National CNA Week-Honoring Those Who Go the Extra Mile!

June 15, 2017 -- What better way to kick off National CNA week than to honor all the wonderful CNA's in Johnson County at the Johnson County Quality Long-Term Care "Going the Extra Mile" awards banquet. This morning we had the pleasure of honoring one our our AMAZING 2nd shift CNA/OMT's, Danni Slaymaker! Danni has worked at SRV for several years and is a great asset to our team. She has all the qualities we look for in a caretaker and then some. You will find Danni working in our Memory Care Unit where she has developed a special bond with all the resident's and their families. On several occasions, we have had families comment on the wonderful care that she provides to their loved one. She goes above and beyond to learn each resident's routine and understands that sometimes with dementia you just have to "go with the flow". It isn't often that you come across an individual as caring, patient, attentive, and passionate as Danni is. On top of all those amazing qualities, Danni comes to work with a smile on her face and strives to share that happiness with every resident she cares for! We are so thankful to have her as part of our team at SRV and congratulate her on this achievement!

We Are Expanding!!

June 6, 2017 -- Solon Retirement Village is looking for ways to expand and better serve our community. We believe that a four bed Palliative Care unit would be a very beneficial addition to our campus. This unit would provide specialty services to those who are at the end of life, as well as provide extra space and support to their friends and family during this difficult time.
We are asking for help from families, community members, and local businesses who would be willing to write letters of support to aide in the state's approval process for the new unit. If you wish to submit a letter, please address to the Certificate of Need Board and drop of in our front office by June 21st.
As always, we are thankful to be a part of such a wonderful and supportive community!
